Liriel Banre

This is Liriel Banre, from Elaine Cunningham's Starlight and Shadows series and the copyright belongs to her or to Forgotten Realms I would imagine. Liriel is a princess of the drow in Menzoberranzan, the greatest of drow cities. Unlike the rest of her female drow, Liriel is capable of casting arcane magic (raw magic without the intervention of a god) and clerical magic. Because of this she is VERY special to the drow and the ruling house that she belongs to. She is the typical spoiled party girl until a twist of fate gets her exiled to the surface, though it seems to me that her abilities with arcane magic and the fact that she is more akin to a surface elf(what with a conscience, compassion, overall sense of joy and a deep love for the moon and the night sky) which would be reason enough to either banish her or to kill her if she was beyond "re-education" so to speak. The hair was directly inspired by Todd Lockwood's rendition of Liriel for the cover of Daughter of the Drow. If you haven't see his stuff and are a fan of dark elves, then you should check him out at [link] . Few people have pulled of a such a natural looking drow, and I mean you cosplayers too. There is just something about the white hair and coal black skin that doesn't seem natural and akward. For another rention of a drow that looks cool check out 's version of Drizzt Do'Urden.
